Introduction:
The “Tree Plantation Drive” organized by the School of Liberal Arts at Noida International University was a significant initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and raising awareness among students about the importance of afforestation. This event aligned with the global movement towards a greener planet and provided an opportunity for students to actively participate in enhancing their campus environment. The drive commenced at 3.15 PM with a gathering of enthusiastic students and faculty members at Gate No. 1. Dr. Zeba Khanam addressed the participants, highlighting the significance of tree plantation and its long-term benefits for the environment. Total 49 undergraduate and postgraduate students participated in the event, showcasing a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. The enthusiastic involvement of students demonstrated a collective effort to contribute positively to the environment.

Objectives

  1. Promote Environmental Awareness: Educate students about the importance of trees in combating climate change and improving air quality.
  2. Engagement and Participation: Encourage students to actively participate in environmental initiatives and foster a sense of responsibility towards nature.
  3. Campus Beautification: Contribute to the greenery and aesthetic appeal of the university campus.

Activities

  • Planting Trees: Students were divided into groups and assigned specific areas for planting saplings. A variety of native tree species were chosen to ensure ecological balance.
  • Awareness Sessions: Short sessions were conducted by faculty members to educate students on the types of trees planted and their ecological benefits.

Outcome
The Tree Plantation Drive resulted in the planting of 30 saplings around the campus. Feedback from participants indicated a heightened awareness of environmental issues and a desire to engage in more such activities in the future.

Conclusion
The “Tree Plantation Drive” was a successful event that not only contributed to the beautification of the campus but also instilled a sense of environmental stewardship among students. The School of Liberal Arts is committed to organizing more such initiatives to promote a sustainable future and encourage active participation from the university community. This event was a wonderful and well organised event, Dr. Zeba Khanam, Dr. Naima Umar, Dr, Vinod Kumar and Dr. Puneet Yadav ensured a smooth and enriching experience for all participants.
