About Department of Fine Arts

School of Fine Arts (SFA) is on the map of higher education, widely known for innovative and rigorous education, nurturing professional needs of students through focused global approach in education and research with international prospective, commitment to excellence and learning based on experimentation, exploration and exposure to traditional and contemporary art practices. Faculty of SFA being the bedrock with academic luminaries across India and abroad, SFA offers two programs Bachelor of Fine Arts- BFA 4 year Degree program with specialization in Painting, Sculpture and Applied Arts, and Master in Fine Arts – MFA 2 years Masters program in Applied Arts and Painting. Both programs provide students with creative and rich curriculum combining theory and practical, inculcating in-depth knowledge of art history, contemporary trends and widely developing skills with multi-dimensional approach. About PhD/ Research/ Docoral Program in Painting and Applied Arts

Fine art and design areas of supervision include: drawing; painting; sculpture; printmaking; digital media; art and design; history and theory of the 20th century art.

Supervision covers theoretical approach and is provided through a research committee and regular individual tutorials/ discussions with supervisors.

The curriculum includes compulsory coursework, research proposal, objectives, research work, progress presentation, synopsis, and thesis defense. It also includes acceptance/publication of research papers in peer-reviewed indexed journals.

Garima Verma (3rd Year- Applied Art, School of Fine Arts) has received an award  in the International Virtual Photography Competition on the occasion of World Photography Day- 19th August 2021. Her three photographs got selected in the competition; one of the photographs has received first position in the category of Grassroots innovations.
