Introduction:
Civil Services Cell under School of Liberal Arts, Noida International University, had organized a Quiz Competition on “General Studies” on 12 November 2025. The Quiz Competition is conducted at the Academic Block at Moot Court. The Quiz Competition is designed to
evaluate the knowledge of the participants within academics as well as to make students familiar with the critical thinking and innovative learning. The quiz will integrate the game mechanics into the learning process. The Quiz competition has conducted in Three rounds with a total of 10 teams having 5 members in each group. The quiz rounds had covered different questions from different discipline, where students has answered the questions very enthusiastically. The Reason for conducted the Quiz Competition is to enhance or to develop student knowledge for Academic or Non-Academic Subjects.
Aims/Objectives:
The Quiz aims to fulfill the following objectives:
- To evaluate the basic knowledge of the participants in the field of general
- To improve or expand the practical knowledge of current affairs at the global
- To encourage students to take part in competitive examinations at State & Central
- To instill the students the values of knowledge, wisdom and compassion to make them well aware citizens.
- To promote a sense of healthy debate amongst participants in order to learn from each
- To Promote a fun way to study where the Quiz can be a fun way to learn and improve general knowledge
Content
Rules for On-Stage Quiz Competition :
Round 1: The Competition begins with a Preliminary Rapid Fire Round. 10 Teams answer Three General Questions worth 1 Point each within a 30 seconds limit. ( 2 teams will be Eliminated ).
Round 2: At the enhance Level, The remaining 6 six Teams answers 5 question each, with a (-1) penalty for incorrect answers and no deduction for passes unless the question passes from another team, in which case the original team loses a point. ( 2 more Teams will be Eliminated ).
Round 3: At the most Difficult Level, 4 teams had competed, Facing (-1) penalties for incorrect answers, no deduction for passes, and a (+2) bonus for correct answers on passed questions. If there is a tie in Round 2 or 3, a tiebreaker questioning round will determine the advancing team.
The Questions were related to Generals studies, world affairs, current affairs, law based questions, civil service related questions. The Quiz competition had led to the enhancement and awareness about current studies and world affairs.
The Winners of Quiz Competition Awarded with the Certificates and Trophy and The Runner Up of Quiz Competition Awarded with the Certificates and Pratiyogita Darpan.
Outcomes
It was a highly enjoyable and students learned knowledge based on general awareness. Students also expressed their keen interest in gaining knowledge and enhanced their analytical thinking. The students also expressed their interest on the quiz competition. The experience of the quiz competition was a memorable time not just for the participants but also for the volunteers who gain knowledge from this competition. Students got aware about a general knowledge and the current affairs of the world, recognizing the importance of general studies, world affairs. Students in future increase their self- awareness in the society and also they can focus on their personal growth. The students who participated in quiz competition, they learnt knowledge based on different disciplines and it leads towards to attain world of knowledge. Through this competition students had gained knowledge and experience towards participation at various level. The benefit of quiz competition for the participants had increased the interest to attempt the competitive exams. The student encouraging them to uphold these principles in their personal and professional lives. Overall, the quiz competition provides students with a real-world understanding of, what is going on in the world, leaving them more informed, engaged, and inspired.
Conclusion
A group of ten teams from different schools from Noida International University had participated for the Quiz Competition . The students understood about the general knowledge of all aspects having an important role in their personal and professional life. The purpose of a quiz competition is to evaluate participants’ knowledge and make them familiar with the format of quizzes. Quiz competitions can also help students prepare for academic careers and job opportunities. Now students keenly interested on such competition in future for the betterment and development of their personal and their professional life.
