STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES IN COMMUNITY AREA 2026

Event Overview:

The School of Nursing successfully organised a one-day programme on “Stress management techniques” on 19th February, 2026, at the Primary School, Mozampur Kehrli Bhav. The term ” Stress management techniques ” describes how people viewed stress and its management. In today’s fast paced world, individuals experience stress due to academic pressure, workplace demands, financial problems, family responsibilities, and health issues The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of stress and various stress management techniques that help individuals cope effectively with stressful situations at the Mozampur Kherli Bhav Primary School. Nursing students led interactive sessions using age-appropriate activities to challenge stereotypes and promote equal opportunities. The faculty members and students actively participated in the programme, making it a significant initiative toward Stress management techniques.

Objectives of the event:

  1. To educate students about the importance of Stress management techniques.
  2. To encourage respectful and inclusive behaviour among boys and girls.
  3. To involve teachers and parents in discussions on Stress management.
  4. To enhance understanding of Stress management techniques.

The Chief Patron for the program was Dr Devesh Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Chairman,

Noida International University. He is an educationist and an academic leader with the vision, belief, value, understanding and work legacy of quality Education.

The Patron for the program was Dr Vikram Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, Noida International University. He is an academic leader with the vision, conviction, appreciation, knowledge, and work legacy of high-quality education. 

The Patron for the Program was Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Noida International University. She is a leader in higher education with the vision, conviction, appreciation, knowledge, and work ethic of great education.

The Patron for the Program was Prof. (Dr.) Dipak Sethi, Director of the School of Nursing, Noida International University, guided and encouraged us throughout our program.

Programme Highlights:

 The program began with a warm welcome by the Head Teacher of the school. The School of Nursing team was introduced, and the children were briefed about the significance of the program.

Educational Talk

Faculty members from NIU delivered an engaging talk on:

  • Meaning of Stress management techniques
  • Examples of Stress management techniques in daily life
  • Importance of fair treatment for all

The session was interactive, helping children understand the topic through simple language and local examples.

Group Activities

Students were divided into mixed-gender groups to participate in:

  • Role-play on Stress management techniques: The nursing students performed scenarios This role play shows a conversation between a nurse and a student who is feeling stressed due to exams. The nurse explains simple stress management techniques such as deep breathing, proper time management, regular exercise, adequate sleep, and positive thinking. She also encourages the student to share feelings with trusted people. The role play highlights that stress can be managed effectively with healthy coping strategies.
  • Afterwards, the school students recited the poems and shared their experiences Stress management techniques among themselves. Students have also shown their academic and extracurricular work (drawing and clay idol making).

Food distribution was carried out by the students of Noida International University as part of the Midday Meal program for the school children.

The program concluded with the nursing students of Noida International University distributing snacks to the school students, bringing smiles to the children and reinforcing a sense of care and community.

This encouraged teamwork and creative expression.

Participation:

  • Students: Approximately 80 students from classes I to V
  • Teachers: 2 teaching staff of the primary school
  • NIU Team: 2 Faculty members (Ms. Priyanka & Ms. Divyani) and nursing students of GNM 1st and 3rd year from the School of Nursing, NIU

Outcomes

  • Students showed enthusiasm and awareness about Stress management techniques.
  • Mixed-gender group activities helped build respectful interactions.
  • Teachers expressed interest in continuing Stress management techniques.
  • The posters also revealed creative and thoughtful ideas from students.

Conclusion:

Stress is a common part of daily life, but it can be effectively managed with proper techniques such as relaxation exercises, regular physical activity, time management, healthy lifestyle habits, and positive thinking. Practicing these strategies helps improve mental and physical well-being. Effective stress management leads to better health, increased productivity, and improved quality of life.
