AWARENESS PROGRAM ON GENDER INEQUALITY 2026

Event Overview:

The School of Nursing successfully organised a one-day programme on “Gender inequality” on 5th February, 2026, at the Primary School, Makanpur Bangar. The term “gender inequality” describes how people are treated or viewed differently depending on their gender. It affects prospects, performance, involvement, and learning access in educational environments. The purpose of this study was to determine whether and to what degree gender inequality existed among the pupils at the Makanpur Bangar Primary School. Nursing students led interactive sessions using age-appropriate activities to challenge stereotypes and promote equal opportunities. The faculty members and students actively participated in the programme, making it a significant initiative toward gender equality promotion.

The Chief Patron for the program was Dr Devesh Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Chairman,

Noida International University. He is an educationist and an academic leader with the vision, belief, value, understanding and work legacy of quality Education.

The Patron for the program was Dr Vikram Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, Noida International University. He is an academic leader with the vision, conviction, appreciation, knowledge, and work legacy of high-quality education.

The Patron for the Program was Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Noida International University. She is a leader in higher education with the vision, conviction, appreciation, knowledge, and work ethic of great education.

The Patron for the Program was Prof. (Dr.) Tanveer Ahmad Wani, Dean – Quality Assurance

& Accreditation, Noida International University. His vision for the Quality Assurance & Accreditation cell is to establish a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all academic and administrative processes of the university.

The Patron for the Program was Prof. (Dr.) Dipak Sethi, Director of the School of Nursing, Noida International University, guided and encouraged us throughout our program.

Programme Highlights:

  • The program began with a warm welcome by the Head Teacher of the The School of Nursing team was introduced, and the children were briefed about the significance of the program.

Educational Talk

Faculty members from NIU delivered an engaging talk on:

  • Meaning of gender inequality
  • Examples of inequality in daily life
  • Importance of fair treatment for all

The session was interactive, helping children understand the topic through simple language and local examples.

Group Activities

Students were divided into mixed-gender groups to participate in:

  • Role-play on Gender Equality: The nursing students performed scenarios showing the gender discrimination within the families, where girls faced rejection and The role play concluded with a strong message as the girl responsibly took her sick mother to the hospital, emphasizing the importance and strength of girls in society. The nursing students presented role plays depicting girls leading sports teams and boys sharing household responsibilities, highlighting cooperation and equality.

Afterwards, the school students recited the poems and shared their experiences on gender- related issues among themselves. Students have also shown their academic and extracurricular work (drawing and clay idol making).

Food distribution was carried out by the students of Noida International University as part of the Mid-Day Meal program for the school children.

The program concluded with the nursing students of Noida International University distributing snacks to the school students, bringing smiles to the children and reinforcing a sense of care and community.

This encouraged teamwork and creative expression.

Participation:

  • Students: Approximately 50 students from classes I to V
  • Teachers: 4 teaching staff of the primary school
  • NIU Team: 2 Faculty members (Ms Swati & Ms Vinita) and nursing students of GNM 1stand 3rd year from the School of Nursing, NIU

Conclusion:

The Awareness Program on Gender Inequality at the Primary School, Makanpur Bangar, was successfully conducted with enthusiastic participation from students and teachers. The event positively impacted understanding around gender fairness, encouraging the school community to adopt more inclusive attitudes.
