The School of Liberal Arts at Noida International University successfully organized the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approaches in Humanities and Social Sciences (MDAHSS 2025) on June 17–18, 2025. The event brought together scholars, dignitaries, and students to explore interdisciplinary perspectives in humanities and social sciences. The Conference objective was to create a global platform for cross-disciplinary exchange in humanities and social sciences, examining multipolar world dynamics, governance perspectives, and Indigenous Knowledge Systems. It fostered conversations on geography, Indian history, culture, sociology, literature, and communication while addressing mental health, law, gender, and human rights through multidisciplinary approaches. The initiative aims was to build collaborative networks, develop integrated methodologies, publish quality research, and translate findings into actionable policies that address contemporary societal challenges.
Day 1:-
The conference commenced at 11:00 AM with a formal inauguration with the arrival of the NIU dignitaries and our guests. It was followed by Lamp Lighting Ceremony by NIU dignitaries and key note addressees . Dr. Aparna Sharma, conference chair, welcomed all the participants and guests, and gave a brief note about the conference. Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Honorable Vice Chancellor, addressed the audience and Prof.(Dr.) Vikram Singh, Honorable Chancellor interacted with all the participants, dignitaries and organising team. As the conference was in hybrid mode, few of the international and national guests around the world had joined us online. Guest Speeches by Ms. Tanuja Shankar, and Honorable Justice Talwant Singh rightly addressed our audience by discussing about the importance of multidisciplinary education. Honorable Chief Guest Dr. (Mrs) Pankaj Mittal had left a great impact on the audience through her address. She focused on NEP 2020 aligning with integration of different course (inclusive education). She congratulated Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj and conference team, for organising an international conference on such a relevant topic.
The conference brochure was released by all the NIU dignitaries and Guests that set the tone for the conference. Dr. Laurie A. Baker-Malungu, in her keynote address, emphasized how an interdisciplinary approach can foster innovative ideas in research and development. She highlighted that fresh perspectives and visionary thinking can open up new dimensions in education and research, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements. The afternoon featured Fourteen technical sessions and discussions on 17-18 both the days, followed by networking opportunities. It was chaired by renowned faculties members and academicians from premier institutions The second day continued with scholarly presentations and collaborative dialogues.
Day 2:-
The first half of the day was dedicated to the online presentation of the conference papers. In afternoon session, Valedictory Session was addressed by valedictory guests Mr. Wasino. M .Hum. ,Dr. Veerendra Mishra, IPS, and Honourable Justice Samarpal Singh. The guests appreciated the efforts and wider perspective for the opening up the new possibilities in research. The convenors Dr.Manju Kundu and Dr. Sangeeta Mishra , presented the conference Report in which the mentioned 228 total received papers on the closer date, 156 papers were accommodated for the registration after a regress plagiarism and review tests. The total number of registered participants were 143, nearly 140 presentations were made offline and online in the presence of technical session chairs from different academic institutions. Dr. Aparna Sharma, Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Conference Chair presented the concluding remarks followed by vote of thanks.
Conclusion
MDAHSS 2025 fostered academic exchange and innovative thinking, reinforcing the importance of multidisciplinary research in humanities and social sciences. The event concluded with a commitment to further such intellectual endeavours in the future.
