About Central Library
Keeping with the vision and mission of the Noida International University the Central Library was established in January 2010 to promote knowledge through its effective dissemination of information resources. The Central Library of NIU has named as Charls Darwin Central Library. The Library is governed by LAC (Library Advisory Committee). The LAC is apex policy making body which functions under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. The library acts as learning resource centre of the University to supplement education and information needs of the faculty and students. The Library has been played a key role in generation, preservation and communication of knowledge for education and research of the university. It provides information services and facilities to meet requirement of the teaching, training and research programmes. The seating capacity of the Library is more than 150 users at a time. The library services are also open to the University staff and visitors. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have been changed at very fast pace. Development of ICT has great impacted on libraries all over the world. The Central Library has been adapting new technologies including smart library card, hybrid security gate, library automation with Koha open source, library website, e-resources etc. for providing web-based information services to the library users.
Location
The Library has been functioning in its state-of-the-art constructed two storied centrally building which is the central place of the University. The Library building consists of an area of 1300 sq.mtr.
Opening Hours
The Library remains open on each working day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for its readers.

Sections
The Library has following sections and facilities
Acquisition Section: This section is responsible for the acquisition of all the books, monographs, government documents and other reading material relevant to the requirements of teaching and research programs of the university. The section helps the faculty members in selecting the new documents for procurement in the library through the latest announcements, publisher’s catalogues and bibliographies.
Technical Section: After acquisition of the documents, the technical processing work i.e. classification and cataloguing for easy retrieval of the documents through Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is done by the technical section. The classification of documents is carried out by using DDC 23rd edition.

Circulation Section: The section provides membership to the students, faculty and other staff of the University. The books are issued to the library users according to their privileges on all working days.
Periodical Section: In the section, periodical publications, newspapers, and magazines are displayed for users, where they have offline access to periodicals, various reports, faculty publication, magazines, newspapers, etc.
Cyber/Digital Library Section: The strength of the section is 20 computers, the Library has Wi-Fi enabled access to the Internet where the users access the e-resources. The students are allowed to use their Laptops and Tablets in the section.
Thesis Section: A separate section for theses and dissertations is located at 1st floor of the library for research scholars and faculty. The section also uploads PhD theses on the Shodhganga of INFLIBENT Centre.

Library Website: The Library has developed its website which is accessible through https://www.cdl.niu.ac.in/. All the e-resources and services of the Library have been integrated with the website for easy access to the users.
Plagiarism Detection Tools: The Library provides facility for checking plagiarism through Turnitin plagiarism software in theses and other publications of the academic fraternity of the University.
Toppers’ Corner: This service is unique in its nature. The answer sheets of the students, who are the topper in their department, are kept in this section for the consultation by the library users.
Smart ID cum Library Card System: The library prepares smart cards which are essential for all the library users for self-issue-return of documents in the system. Now, the Library has been preparing Smart ID cum Library cards for the students and faculties of the University which is considered as the best practice of the University.

Dr. Shiv Kumar is a committed Library and Information Science professional with over 12 years of experience in academic libraries. He is currently working as the Librarian at Central Library, Noida International University, where he focuses on library automation, digital resources, and modern academic support. Before this, he served as Assistant Librarian at Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya State University where he supervised 80+ MLIS dissertations and worked as an Academic Counsellor for IGNOU and UPRTOU. He also worked at DESIDOC (DRDO), New Delhi, managing technical processing and digital library systems. Dr. Shiv Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science BBAU Central University, Lucknow and has cleared the UGC-NET, JRF. He is skilled in using library software such as SOUL 2.0, KOHA, and LIBSYS, along with RFID and cloud-based systems. He has authored a book on IIT libraries and published 12+ research papers in reputed journals. He has also participated in various national and international seminars and workshops. His aims to build a future-ready, research-driven, and user-friendly library that meets global standards in academic excellence.
Praveen Kumar, Working a an Assistant Librarian Noida International University, holds a master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) qualification, with over 11+ years of experience in the field of academic librarianship. He is entrusted with the responsibility of managing the Pharmacy Library. Throughout my career, gained in-depth expertise in library automation, cataloguing and classification and periodical section.
Satyendra Pratap Singh, Working as a Senior Library Assistant at Noida International University with 11+ years of experience. Holds degrees from Bundelkhand University and specialize in library management, research support by TURNITIN software and technical skills, including circulation management, KOHA configuration, Shodhganga, digital resource management and DSpace.
Sonu Kumar, Working as a Library Assistant at Noida International University with 3+ years of experience. holds a master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) qualification. He is entrusted with the responsibility of Managing the cataloguing and classification, digital resources and user education.
Yogesh Semar, Working as a Junior Library Assistant at Noida International University with 2 years of experience. holds a master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) qualification. He is entrusted with the responsibility of Managing the cataloguing and classification, digital resources and user education.

He is entrusted with the responsibility of Managing the SOB Library Circulation, books arrangement cataloguing and classification & user education.
