Report on Celebration of 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week – 2025

The 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week (NPW) was celebrated at School of Pharmacy, Noida International University from 17th to 23rd September, 2025, in accordance with the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ghaziabad. The aim of this week-long celebration was to create awareness among students, faculty, and the community regarding the importance of pharmacovigilance, adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting, and patient safety.
Objectives
- To sensitize pharmacy students and healthcare stakeholders about pharmacovigilance and ADR reporting.
- To promote the theme “Your Safety, just a Click Away: Report to PvPI”.
- To encourage active participation of students in awareness activities through academic and community-oriented programs.
Day-wise Report
Day 1 (17th September, 2025): Lecture Session
The celebration began with an insightful lecture delivered by Mr. Raman Yadav Sir, Assistant Professor at SOP, NIU, who emphasized the importance of pharmacovigilance, ADR reporting mechanisms, and patient safety. His session inspired the students to actively engage in spreading awareness.
Day 2 (18th September, 2025): Quiz Competition
A quiz competition on pharmacovigilance and drug safety was conducted. Students enthusiastically participated, demonstrating their knowledge on ADR reporting, PvPI, and related healthcare topics.
Day 3 (19th September, 2025): Poster Presentation Competition
A poster presentation competition was organized where students presented creative posters on the theme of pharmacovigilance. The event showcased innovative ideas and enhanced the understanding of drug safety among participants.
Day 4 (20th September, 2025): Nukkad Natak (Street Play)
Students performed a Nukkad Natak in the campus highlighting the significance of ADR reporting and the role of pharmacists in ensuring patient safety. The street play attracted large student gatherings and effectively spread awareness through dramatization.
Day 6 (22nd September, 2025): Online Webinar & Essay Competition
An online webinar was organized with Ms. Urvashi Jain, from CPA Institute of Pharmaceuticals and Life-Sciences, as the guest speaker. She delivered a comprehensive session on pharmacovigilance practices and the global perspective of drug safety monitoring.
An essay writing competition was also held, where students articulated their views on pharmacovigilance and patient safety. The competition helped in encouraging critical thinking and in-depth understanding of the subject.
Day 7 (23rd September, 2025): Prize Distribution Ceremony
The week-long celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. Winners of the poster presentation, quiz competition, essay competition, and other events were felicitated by faculty members.
Conclusion
The celebration of the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week 2025 at School of Pharmacy, Noida International University was a grand success. The series of activities created significant awareness among students and the community about the importance of ADR reporting and patient safety. The active participation of students, faculty, and guest speakers contributed to making the program impactful and aligned with the vision of PCI and IPC.
