NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON “BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH IN PUBLIC HEALTH”

Introduction
The Hands-on Skill Workshop on Obstetric & Gynaecology was organized by Noida International University, School of Nursing, in collaboration with Nursing Champs, on 19th and 20th February 2025. This highly interactive and practice-oriented event aimed to equip nursing students and faculty with comprehensive practical skills essential for maternal and gynaecological care.

The Chief Patron for the programme was Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Chairman, NIU. He is an educationist and an academic leader with the Vision, belief, value, understanding and work legacy of quality Education.

Midwifery and obstetrical nursing and Extension Activity on “Maternal Health Awareness Day” Was Conducted On 23rd Jan ,2025 By School of Nursing, Noida International University.

The Patron for the Program was Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, NIU. She is a leader in higher education with the vision, conviction, appreciation, knowledge, and work ethic of great education.

The Patron for the Program was Prof. (Dr.) Parsanjeet Kumar, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, NIU. He is an educationist and an efficient academic leader with a keen focus on Research and publication development.

Prof. (Dr.) Dipak Sethi Director School of Nursing, as the Convenor. He guided and encouraged us throughout our program.

 Through poster presentation and health education we aware to women Regarding Maternal health. We all discussed about the importance of girls. There are more than 20 people present over there. Program was successfully done and at last we encouraged people about all these things

The workshop provided participants with comprehensive training in essential obstetric skills, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application. Core clinical competencies were emphasized, including the management of normal labor and the execution of instrumental deliveries using forceps and vacuum extractors. Participants gained hands-on experience with vacuum delivery techniques, understanding the nuances of their application. The curriculum also covered caesarean section management, ensuring readiness for surgical interventions when necessary.

Specialized training areas encompassed a range of critical examinations and procedures. Attendees practiced vaginal and cervical assessments, as well as Fetal heartbeat monitoring, to accurately evaluate labour progression. They learned to assess Fetal presentation and positioning, crucial for determining the appropriate delivery method. Instruction in intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD) insertion and post-abortion care equipped participants with skills to support reproductive health. The workshop addressed the management of obstetric emergencies such as abortion complications, eclampsia, and pre-eclampsia, providing strategies for effective intervention.

Postpartum care was a focal point, with comprehensive discussions on maternal health during the puerperium. The use of the partograph for monitoring labour progress was demonstrated, highlighting its importance in timely decision-making. Antenatal assessments and per vaginal (P.V.) examinations were practiced to ensure early detection of potential issues. Perineal care techniques during and after delivery were taught to promote healing and prevent infections. Neonatal resuscitation sessions imparted life-saving skills essential for newborn care. Additionally, the administration of magnesium sulphate (MgSO₄) in obstetric emergencies was covered, emphasizing its role in managing severe pre-eclampsia and eclampsia

OUTCOME-The workshop was a resounding success, with students and faculty expressing their appreciation for the practical exposure and career-relevant learning they received. The collaborative efforts of Nursing Champs and Noida International University set a high standard for future skill-based workshops.

CONCLUSION- The Nursing Champ Workshop on Obstetrics & Gynaecology significantly contributed to bridging the gap between theory and practice, empowering nursing students to become confident and competent professionals in maternal healthcare.
