Nyimeda Deng Macham Angui Becomes, First PhD Awardee from School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Noida International University

Noida International University (NIU) is proud to announce a landmark achievement in its academic journey. Nyimeda Deng Macham Angui, a distinguished research scholar from South Sudan, has been conferred with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Journalism and Mass Communication, becoming the first ever PhD graduate from NIU’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

This historic milestone reflects not only Mr. Angui’s academic excellence and dedication but also NIU’s growing global presence and commitment to research and innovation in the field of media and communication.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Dr. Angui acknowledged the unwavering support and guidance provided by the university leadership:

“I am deeply honored and grateful to have completed this journey at Noida International University. I sincerely thank Dr. Devesh Singh, Chairman of NIU, Dr. Vikram Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, and Prof. (Dr.) Uma Bhardwaj, Vice Chancellor, for their visionary leadership and encouragement throughout my research.” The PhD is awarded under the supervision of Dr. Syed Fahar Ali, seniormost teacher in the school of journalism and a well known researcher.

Dr. Angui’s research contributes significantly to the understanding of media narratives and communication strategies in conflict-affected regions, with a special focus on African contexts. His work underscores the importance of role of media in the development of society in South Sudan.
