Introduction
The Abhivyakti Club of the School of Business Management, Noida International University, organized an extempore activity for the students of BBA I Year and B.Com I Year. The event aimed to enhance the students’ communication skills and boost their confidence in public speaking. The activity was conducted with the support of the club’s coordinators and a dedicated team of student volunteers.
Objectives
The extempore activity aimed to develop students’ communication skills, enhance critical thinking, boost self-confidence, promote effective time management, and encourage active participation in extracurricular activities.
Description of the Activity
In this extempore session, students were randomly assigned a topic and were given 2 minutes to prepare before speaking on the subject for 5 minutes. The topics were diverse, ranging from social issues to business concepts, encouraging students to think on their feet and present their ideas in a coherent manner. Each student had the opportunity to express their viewpoint, develop their argument, and conclude their talk effectively.
Learning Outcomes
The students improved their public speaking abilities, demonstrated enhanced quick thinking, increased self-confidence, developed time management skills, and gained constructive feedback for further improvement.
Participation and Engagement:
The extempore activity, organized by the Abhivyakti Club, was a successful event that provided BBA and B.Com students with a valuable opportunity to develop essential communication and critical thinking skills. Through active participation and guided feedback, the students gained not only public speaking experience but also a boost in their overall confidence. The event was well-received and set a positive precedent for future such activities.
