DESCRIPTION.
Polio drop is one of the most effective ways to ensure child health and survival. Noida International University, School of Nursing, under the flagship of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan organized an awareness program for “one week pulse polio drive” under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dean/Principal School of Nursing and Ms. Shikha Gupta (Assistant Professor, SON) coordinated by Mr. Alok (In charge of polio drive) along with the students of GNM and ANM student on 18/09/2022-25/09/2022. The campaign was carried out in the vicinity primary health center at Greater Noida.
The specific objectives of the program are as follows-
• That all the children get four doses of polio vaccine at each of the following ages: 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
• That the Children who have not completed their polio vaccinations should see their healthcare professional to complete the vaccine series.
About 1000 to 1500 children were vaccinated throughout the nearby villages of Greater Noida during this period of vaccination drive.
