DESCRIPTION
School of Pharmacy, Noida International University participated in Fortis Clinical Research Summit -I on 30/11/2023 for B. Pharm students in the Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Sec-44, Opp HUDA City Centre, Gurugram, Haryana, India.
The objective of attending and participating Fortis Clinical Research Summit -I serves as a platform to learn and understand knowledge about Medical Writing, Research in Medical and Pharmaceutical Arena, Role of Ethics Committee, Research Methodology and Development and Importance of Standard Operating Procedures. In this regard, various activities and sessions like Pannel Discussions, Basics of Clinical Research, Career Opportunities in Clinical Research, and Clinical Research Industry and Academia Connect were attended by our faculty and students in this summit.
Mr Abhishek Sharma, Assistant Professor, SoP, NIU along with B. Pharmacy students actively participated in all sessions of this summit.
First Day:
Session 1
Need of clinical research and medical writing were discussed with experts in panel discussion and insights were generated for required methods to incur clinical research and medical writing in minds of young researchers to understand as one of the career option and profession.
Session 2
Ethics committee constitution and function. Need to get ethics approval for clinical research protocols and working of ethics committee.
Session 3
Research Methodology, Biostatistics and development and importance of Standard Operating Procedures.
Session 4
Clinical Research and Medical Writing as Career Option
Session 5
Clinical Research Industry and Academia Connect for having students with clear idea of clinical research and medical writing.

CONCLUSION
By acknowledging the efforts and dedication of panellists and organisers of Fortis Clinical Research Summit -I, activities and sessions strived to elevate the status of the medical and pharmacy students regarding clinical research domain and encouragement as profession in clinical research for pharmaceutical science students, and understand the critical role of academics in helping medical professionals to shape the required students and stakeholders in the required best possible ways.
Faculty and students interacted with various experts from medico and pharma industry for their better understanding of the profession.
