The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Noida International University proudly organized the “Sony Photography Workshop” on November 26, 2024. This workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the technical and ethical dimensions of photography. It was conducted by Mr. Sameer Ashraf, Lead Technical Communication, Cinema & Digital Imaging at Sony (CamTheory)
The workshop covered both fundamental and advanced photography techniques, with an engaging blend of theory and hands-on practice.
Workshop Highlights:
- Mastering Camera Components: Understanding lenses, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, with a focus on manual mode for creative expression.
- Lighting Techniques: Exploring the role of natural and artificial light, as well as using shadows to create depth and drama.
- The 5W Model of Photography: Emphasizing subject, message, timing, location, and purpose to create impactful images.
- Ethical Photography Practices: Highlighting the importance of seeking permission, respecting cultural sensitivities, and understanding the communicative power of visuals.
- The workshop concluded with an interactive practical session, allowing students to apply the techniques discussed. The event successfully equipped participants with essential skills for professional photography in the media industry.
