School of Pharmacy, Noida International University organized a Hospital Visit to YATHARTH Super Speciality Hospital, Greater Noida on 14/03/2024 for D. Pharm Students.

The visit to Yatharth Hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient Department (IPD) Pharmacy by the students and faculty members of Noida International University was aimed at providing them with practical insights into pharmaceutical operations, patient care, and healthcare management, hospital operations within a hospital setting. This event served as a platform for students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications in the field of healthcare and to enhance their understanding of pharmacy practices, medication management, and patient counseling.

Activities:

Introduction to Yatharth Hospital: The visit commenced with an introduction to Yatharth Hospital’s pharmacy services, highlighting their role in patient care and medication management within the hospital.

Tour of OPD Pharmacy: The students were given a guided tour of the hospital’s OPD Pharmacy, where they observed the dispensing process, inventory management, and counseling services provided to outpatients. They learned about the importance of accuracy, safety, and patient education in pharmacy practice.

Tour of IPD Pharmacy: Following the OPD Pharmacy visit, the group toured the IPD Pharmacy, where they witnessed the medication distribution system, storage facilities, and medication reconciliation procedures for inpatients. They gained insights into the challenges and best practices associated with managing a pharmacy within a hospital environment.

Interactive Sessions: Interactive sessions were conducted with pharmacy staff, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals. These sessions facilitated discussions on medication safety, drug interactions, patient counseling techniques, and the role of pharmacists in interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Case Studies and Workshops: Case studies and workshops were conducted to engage students in analyzing medication-related scenarios encountered in clinical practice.
