Webinar Summary |
The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology at the School of Allied Health Sciences, Noida International University, successfully conducted a three-day hands-on workshop on Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) from March 5 to March 7, 2025. The event aimed to provide students with practical exposure to advanced laboratory techniques, enhancing their technical expertise and diagnostic skills. The workshop commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and scientific excellence. Day 1 focused on Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC), with an expert session conducted by Prof. Dr. Jyoti Mishra, Head of the Department of Pathology at Kalyan Singh Medical College, Bulandshahr, U.P. She provided in-depth insights into the FNAC technique, its applications in pathology, and hands-on training to help students refine their diagnostic skills. Day 2 featured an interactive session on Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) led by Dr. Satendra Pal Singh, Senior Scientific Research Officer. He explained the principles, techniques, and applications of PCR in molecular diagnostics. Students actively participated in experiments, gaining firsthand experience in performing PCR and analyzing results. On Day 3, the workshop focused on electrophoresis, an essential technique in molecular biology and clinical diagnostics. Dr. Dharamsheel provided a comprehensive session on the principles and applications of electrophoresis, enhancing students’ understanding of the technique. The workshop witnessed participation from 62 students, including national and international attendees, who benefited immensely from the hands-on training. The event was supported by Dr. Supriya Awasthi, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, whose encouragement and leadership played a vital role in its success. The workshop was meticulously organized by the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) faculty, including Dr. Manti Debnath, Mr. Ajab Singh, Ms. Alisha Wadhwa, Mr. Mukul Mudgal, and Ms. Babita Singhal. Their dedication ensured a structured and enriching learning experience for all participants. The workshop concluded with students expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to gain practical training under the guidance of esteemed experts. Such initiatives reaffirm Noida International University’s commitment to quality education and skill development in the field of Medical Laboratory Technology. |
