INTRODUCTION
OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY:
The objective of organizing the Poster Presentation on “International Overdose Awareness Day” was to raise awareness among students about the critical issue of drug overdose, its causes, and preventive strategies. The activity aimed to enhance pharmacy students’ understanding of substance misuse, promote harm reduction practices, and encourage them to act as advocates for public health and patient safety.
DESCRIPTION
The School of Pharmacy, Noida International University, organized a Poster Presentation on the occasion of International Overdose Awareness Day on 31st August 2024. The event encouraged students to design informative posters highlighting the risks associated with drug overdose, recognizing signs and symptoms, and suggesting preventive and supportive measures. Students presented their posters in groups, promoting collaborative learning and creative expression. The program was held under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Sameer Kumar (Dean, SOP), Ms. Priti Tiwari, Ms. Sonu and Anshika (Assistant Professor).
CONCLUSION
The Poster Presentation on “International Overdose Awareness Day” successfully fostered awareness, empathy, and responsibility among pharmacy students regarding the global overdose crisis. The event enabled participants to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and commitment toward spreading awareness. The initiative highlighted the essential role of pharmacy professionals in educating society, preventing substance misuse, and promoting safe practices. The program concluded with the collective message that small steps taken today can save lives tomorrow.
