Prof. (Dr.) Deepshikha Pande Katare is an accomplished academic leader, biomedical scientist, researcher, and institution builder with over 29 years of distinguished experience in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and academic administration. She earned her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Hamdard University, New Delhi, in 1996, and has since built an illustrious career marked by excellence in teaching, research, institutional governance, and leadership.
Her professional journey began as a CSIR Independent Research Scientist, followed by her tenure at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Chandigarh. She subsequently joined Hamdard University, where she established herself as an educator and researcher before assuming several senior academic leadership positions at Amity University and, presently, at Noida International University.

Academic Leadership
As Professor and Dean, School of Sciences, Noida International University, Prof. Katare is leading the transformation of the School into a multidisciplinary, research-driven, and innovation-oriented academic ecosystem. She has spearheaded NEP 2020-aligned curriculum reforms, promoted outcome-based education, strengthened interdisciplinary teaching, introduced skill enhancement and value-added programmes, expanded industry-academia partnerships, and fostered experiential learning to enhance graduate employability and global competitiveness.
Research & Innovation Leadership
She has successfully led and collaborated on major externally funded research projects supported by DST, DBT, ICMR, DRDO, NMPB and CSIR, mobilizing more than ₹6.3 crore in competitive research funding. Her leadership has facilitated the establishment of advanced Proteomics and Metabolomics research facilities and accelerated translational research in cancer biology, neurodegenerative disorders, biomarker discovery, medicinal plants, nanomedicine, and precision therapeutics. She integrates Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and data-driven approaches into life sciences education and research.
Global Research Impact
Her scientific contributions are recognized internationally. She has authored more than 146 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals including The Lancet, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, The Lancet Oncology, The Lancet Neurology, The Lancet Public Health, The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Nature Medicine, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC). Her research spans global disease burden studies, precision medicine, cancer biology, neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic disorders, and translational biotechnology.
Institution Building & Governance
She has held key leadership positions including Dean, Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Centre Head and Officiating Director, providing strategic leadership in academic planning, institutional governance, faculty development, quality assurance, accreditation, and policy implementation. As a NAAC Peer Team Member, she has actively contributed to strengthening quality benchmarks and institutional excellence across Indian higher education.

Dr. Deepshikha Pande Katare

Prof. Deepshikha earned her PhD in Biotechnology from Hamdard University, New Delhi, in 1996, and brings with her over 28 years of experience in teaching, research, accreditation, and institutional leadership. Her expertise spans medical biotechnology, neuroproteomics, oncoproteomics, novel drug delivery systems, and metabolic engineering, with a strong focus on translational research and AI-driven healthcare innovations.
A prolific scholar, Prof. Deepshika Pande has authored 123 research publications, 42 patents (25 granted), 23 book chapters, and three books, and her work has earned her an H-index of 26 and an i10-index of 48. She has successfully mentored 23 PhD scholars, nurturing the next generation of scientific leaders.
In addition, she has successfully completed seven government-funded research projects and one consultancy project, further demonstrating her strong engagement in both academic research and industry collaboration
In addition to her research achievements, Prof. Deepshikha is a certified NAAC Assessor and Peer Team Member, contributing actively to quality assurance in higher education. She has also held several leadership roles, including Deputy Director, Assistant Director, and Officiating Director at various institutes, where she has spearheaded curriculum innovation, research funding initiatives, and global collaborations.
Prior to joining Noida International University, Dr. Pande was associated with organizations like Amity University, Noida and Hamdard University.
