
DR. GOPAL SINGH
Professor (Department of Plant Pathology) SVPUA&T, Meerut
GOPAL SINGH has expertise in evaluating Antracol for managing brown spot and narrow brown spot in paddy, as well as Melody for controlling late blight in tomatoes. He has also tested UPF-206 against late blight in tomatoes and Picoxystrobin against blast in paddy. Additionally, he has been involved in the dissemination of mushroom production technology through demonstrations as part of the AICRP on Mushrooms at the cooperating center in Meerut. His work includes the improvement, validation, and dissemination of production technology for Kidajari mushrooms.
He has led 8 externally funded projects and has published 92 papers indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and NAAS. Moreover, he has authored over 3 books, contributed to more than 20 chapters in reputed journals, published over 38 popular articles, and has 19 lead papers to his credit. He has also published 125 newspaper articles and given 26 radio talks.
His numerous awards include the Excellence in Extension Award, Outstanding Achievement Award, Distinguished Scientist Award, Best Teacher Award, Fellowship Award, and National Advisor, along with serving as an expert member of the Board of Studies (BOS) for various reputed societies in India.
Key Contributions:
- Established the Mushroom Research and Training Centre at SVPUA&T in 2022.
- Established three mushroom spawn laboratories at SVPUA&T in 2008.
- Established the University Hospital in 2012.
