“Emerging trends in Free Legal Aid: The road forward.” 

Event Brief: The Constitution of India empowers the citizens under Article 39A which says “State shall secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity, and shall in particular, provide free legal aid, by suitable legislation or schemes or in any other way, to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disability”. Under this purview this guest lecture aims to not only make the participants aware of the rights but also bring to their knowledge the procedure to access free legal aid. Not limiting to this to also look forward to new dimensions that can be worked upon in the field of legal aid 

Purpose: Making the participants aware of their rights which they as citizens/foreigners/non-citizens can access. Bringing to light specificallyThe Right to Free Legal Aidpresent in every court in India.

Guest Profile:Mr. JK. Singh completed his graduation in science (B.Sc.) in the year 2002, then joined LL. B. and completed in the year2007 with a shining First Division. He added another feather in his cap by completing LL.M.in the year 2009. In the year 2013 he took his first posting as Addl. Civil Judge (Junior Division) Mau. Since then there has been no looking back. Presently he is serving as Secretary District Legal Service Authority, Gautam Budh University. He recently completed his 9 years of service in Judicial Services on 20-5-2022.
