Workshop Summary |
Ophthalmic dispensing is an area in Optometry which deals with spectacle frames and lens dispensing based on patient’s need, age, profession, working area, work demands and cosmesis. Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences organized a workshop on ophthalmic dispensing in association with Lenskart academy. Lenskart being one of the most leading brands in spectacle retail and training conducted a hands-on workshop to train the students of Noida International University to measure interpupillary distance, fitting heights, to identify various types of lenses and frames as well. The event was initiated with the blessings of Goddess Saraswati and lamp lighting followed by a prayer dance by the students of Optometry. The audience was addressed by our honorable registrar Dr. Mukesh Parashar, followed by respected Dean, SOAHS Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Awasthi. The program coordinator Mr. Vishal Biswas introduced the guest of honor Ms. Lovely Sharma, Assistant Manager, Training, Lenskart Academy who has an overall experience of 20 years in the field of Optometry and is one of the prominent leaders in optometry retail. During the workshop the students went through a roller coaster of knowledge and hands on practical session with variety of eye wear and their fitting. The moderator of the session Ms. Roshni Majumder concluded the workshop by delivering the take home message and vote of thanks. |
