Prof. (Dr.) Quaisar Alam is an academic specializing in International Relations. He earned his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), where he also studied Journalism, and has a Law background from a leading Indian university. At NIU, he chairs the Ph.D. program of SLA and supervises research scholars. Previously, Prof. Alam was an Assistant Professor at the University of Delhi for over a decade, and a journalist earlier by profession. His extensive scholarly work includes book chapters, conference papers indexed on Google Scholar and ResearchGate, UGC-CARE etc. Prof. Alam is actively involved in research projects, patents, and academic collaborations. He has authored 15 books to his credit. His career includes administrative and industrial roles before joining NIU. He is also credited to have been selected as a senior faculty member at institutions such as the University of Gondar, University of Jimma in Ethiopia and the State University of Eritrea.
