Event Outcomes

The programme highlighted the contribution of physiotherapy to health and wellbeing, and promoted awareness of stroke warning signs, cardiovascular risk factors, and the role of physiotherapy in prevention and rehabilitation.

Event Summary

The Department of Physiotherapy, School of Allied Health Sciences, Noida International University, successfully conducted a two-day programme commemorating World Physiotherapy Day 2026 on 8th and 9th September 2026. The event brought together community outreach, health screening, awareness activities, student engagement, and academic interaction to highlight the vital role of physiotherapy in promoting cardiovascular health and preventing disability associated with stroke.

DAY 1 · 8 SEPTEMBER 2026

Screening, Outreach & Student Competitions

Free health screening and awareness activities were conducted at the NIIMS Physiotherapy OPD and SBM, along with a community outreach programme at PHC Dankaur. The initiative focused on cardiovascular disease and stroke risk factors, prevention, early identification, and the role of physiotherapy in rehabilitation.

More than 120 patients and community beneficiaries were assessed, making the outreach a significant contribution towards early identification of cardiovascular and stroke-related risk factors.

VIIth Semester students gained valuable hands-on exposure to patient interaction, basic screening, health education, and community-based physiotherapy practice.

Formal Function & Guest Talk

A formal function was organised at LT-2, School of Allied Health Sciences. The guest talk focused on the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in the prevention, management, and rehabilitation of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, giving students and faculty valuable insights into physiotherapy-led preventive strategies, physical fitness, rehabilitation, and long-term management.
