Prof. Barry A. J. Fisher is a renowned figure in forensic science, with a distinguished career spanning several decades. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from City College of New York, an M.S. in Chemistry from Purdue University, and an M.B.A. from California State University, Northridge. Fisher served as the Crime Laboratory Director for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department from 1986 to 2009, managing a major metropolitan forensic lab with a staff of nearly 300 and an annual budget exceeding $25 million. Post-retirement, he became a Senior Forensic Science Consultant, advising various organizations, including the U.S. Department of Justice. Fisher has held leadership roles in numerous professional associations, such as the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, where he served as President. He has authored several seminal publications in forensic science, contributing significantly to the field's development and its application in criminal justice.
