He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from City College of New York, an M.S. in Chemistry from Purdue University, and an M.B.A. from California State University, Northridge. Fisher served as the Crime Laboratory Director for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department from 1986 to 2009, managing a major metropolitan forensic lab with a staff of nearly 300 and an annual budget exceeding $25 million. Post-retirement, he became a Senior Forensic Science Consultant, advising various organizations, including the U.S. Department of Justice.
