Seminar Report: 28th September 2022
Every year 28th September is observed as International Safe Abortion Day & a theme is decided for this special day. Theme for this year is – Abortion in Uncertain Times. “The world has been experiencing promising developments in 21st century but also there are important setbacks affecting the right to sexual and reproductive health of women, including on the right to a safe abortion. Human rights law stipulates that women must be free to decide when to be pregnant, how many children to have, and how to space subsequent pregnancies.
It is crucial to ensure that all women and girls, in all their diversity and without any discrimination, have adequate access to safe, effective, affordable, and acceptable methods of contraception of their choice, such as emergency contraception, as well as any other method to avoid forced pregnancies.
In the interest Noida International University School of Nursing,, Greater Noida, organized a Seminar on International Safe Abortion Day on 28th September 2022 under the guidance of respected Dean, SON, Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar and efficiently coordinated by Ms. Manju Rajput, Vice Principal, School of Nursing, NIU
A total of about 140 participants participated in the event.
The main highlight of the event was poster presentation were bulks of themed based posters were presented. The competition was judged by our guest speaker, Ms. Darshana Hazarika, assistant professor NEMCARE foundation, Guwahati, Assam & Vice Principal SON, Prof. Manju Rajput and the following students were declared as winner;
1st – Position- Ms. Aditi, GNM 3rd Year
2nd – Position- Ms. Asha Kumari, ANM 2nd Year
3rd – Position- Ms. Kirti Jaraut, GNM 3rd year
