Health Camp Summery |
To mark the Low Vision Awareness month a webinar on Low Vision Awareness was organized by the Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences. The programme was declared open with a welcome note by Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Awasthi, Head of School, School of Allied Health Sciences, Noida International University, which was followed by an orientation by Mr. Vishal Biswas, program coordinator. The guest speaker was Ms. Sirajum Monira Choudhry, Head of Department, Department of Optometry, Pailan College of management & technology, Kolkata, West Bengal. The honorable speaker has 8 years of clinical experience and 6 years of academic experience in the field of optometry. During the webinar there were student participants who joined from various parts of the country like Noida International University, Sharda University, Pailan college of Management & technology, Eminent college of management and technology, Netralayam the superspeciality eye care centre, Public health institute Patna, the eye foundation and many more. There was a total of 96 participants who joined in and actively participated in the webinar. The speaker highlighted various important issues on low vision rehabilitation like optical & non optical devices, patient counseling and its importance. Also, she added insights about the role of an optometrist in low vision care. The moderator of the session Ms. Roshni Majumder, Assistant professor & academic coordinator, Department of Optometry, School of Allied Health Sciences, concluded the session by summarizing the key points of the webinar and shared the take home message. The session was insightful and truly added to the low vision awareness month. |
