METHOD OF CAMPAIGN -DOOR TO DOOR AWARNESS
DESCRIPTION.
Noida International University, School of Nursing organized an awareness program on “Say no to plastic ” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dean/Principal School of Nursing and Ms. Shikha Gupta (Assistant Professor, SON)
The campaign was carried out in one of the adopted village of Luksar, under the flagship of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
The objective of the campaign was to create awareness about the hazard of polythene bags. The campaign was named ‘Say No to Plastic bag” with the theme “शिक्षित होने का सबूत दें, पॉलिथीन का प्रयोग न करे, ना करने दें। Educate and Support”. Banners bearing this slogan were displayed at various places in the locality. The Students of GNM and ANM 1st year divided themselves into groups of four. Each group visited the people in their homes. People were told how the use of polythene bags pollutes the environment. They were also educated that polythene was not biodegradable and that these bags could choke the sewers. They could also spoil the fertility of the soil. Shopkeepers in the locality were requested to give up the use of polythene carry-bags.
People showed great interest in the campaign. Many of them promised never to use polythene bags in future. The campaign was a great success. Everyone in the locality praised the initiation undertaken by Noida International University for their good work.
Last but not the least, free reusable bags were distributed to all the participants and people of Luksar.
